The Rules

The first rule of the hash is: there are no rules.

The first rule notwithstanding, it is the chief duty of the Religious Advisor to determine if a rule has been broken and consequently if a "down down" is deserved. The following are generally considered worthy of a down down:

New shoes
Lost hare
Silly remark
Problematic colour combination
Hasher anniversary
"Worst hash ever"
Spandex

The Down Down Song

During the down down, the hash stands in a circle and sings a song while the infractor chugs a mug of beer in the center. Although no one in GDH3 knows the official lyrics, the "Hash Hymnal" says they are as follows:

Here's to _____, he's true blue,
He's a hasher through and through,
He's a pisspot so they say,
Tried to get to heaven,
But he went the other way.
Drinking down, down, down, down,
Down, down, down, down,
Down, down, down, down,
Down, down, down, down,
etc.

again, do remember that the words sung by GDH3 differ somewhat from the above. Unfortunately, as they are always sung in a complete mumble, they cannot be reproduced here. However, while you may never find out what GDH3 lyrics are, you can get the general idea.
