Hash Names

The Grand Duchy Hash House Harriers is one of more than 1500 "hashes" worldwide.

Commonly referred to as "a drinking group with a running problem," GDH3 meets every week, rain or shine, on Sunday late mornings between October and March, on Monday evenings between April and September, and on other occasions deemed appropriate (see the Receding Hareline).

GDH3 hashes are "run" (or walked or crawled) by the hounds who follow a trail laid by the hare (see How it Works). It should be stressed that the hash is not a race and competitiveness is discouraged.

No reservations are required to come to a hash. Just turn up with running gear and a sense of humour.

It is a GDH3 tradition (but not a rule, see Rules and Down Downs) that the Christmas Party is held in March.
